Ever been in a boring meeting? Ever seen a presentation that had great information, but still put you to sleep? Ever had a staff meeting that was lackluster and didn't meet the outcomes that you wanted or you walked away not remembering what was talked about? Chances are those presenting the information relied on only one or two strategies for presenting their information, like a PowerPoint or spreadsheet and did not 'shake things up.' Current research shows that this method is ineffective and further states that if you differentiate your presentation style to address people's multiple intelligences, than they will have an increased chance of retaining the information you are presenting. This goes from teaching a class, to facilitating student staff training, and even holding meetings and giving a presentation! Come learn specific strategies you can use to help your students and colleagues get the most out of the important information you are giving. You can also bet that this information will be given to you in more that just a PowerPoint!
